What we collect
When you create a Sprout account we collect the information you provide: your name, birthdate, gender, photos, dietary identity, written prompts, and matching preferences. With your permission, we collect your location to show you nearby people and restaurants. We store the messages you exchange with your matches so we can deliver them, along with basic device information (model, OS version, app version) for diagnostics.
How we use it
Your profile information is shown to other Sprout users as part of matching. Your location is used to find nearby matches and restaurant suggestions; we store only an approximate location, never a movement history. Your messages are stored solely to deliver them to your match and are visible only to the two of you — we don’t read them or use them for any other purpose, except when you report a conversation, in which case we may review it for safety. Device information and crash reports help us fix bugs.
Services we rely on
Sprout runs on Supabase (database, authentication, and storage), Google Places (restaurant search near your location), Expo (app infrastructure and push notifications), and Sentry (crash reporting). Each receives only the data needed to perform its function. We do not sell your personal information to anyone.
Your photos
Photos you upload are stored securely and shown to other users as part of your profile. Photos are removed when you delete them or delete your account.
Blocking and safety
When you block someone, neither of you can see the other’s profile, photos, or messages. Reports you submit are reviewed by our team and retained for safety purposes.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account at any time from Profile → Delete Account. This permanently removes your profile, photos, prompts, matches, messages, and swipes. Feedback you submitted may be retained in anonymized form.
